My name is Amy Bowman. This is my 10th year teaching fourth grade. I am a graduate of East Carolina University, where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading. I'm certified to teach K-6 Elementary Education and K-12 Reading.
I was born in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1971 and moved to Havelock in 1981. Havelock has changed a lot in the last 36 years; new homes, more businesses, and a lot more people. Growing up in a small town really helped me to stay focused on the family unit. So, when I met my husband Marcus, we agreed that Havelock was a wonderful place to raise a family. We have two awesome daughters, Stephanie and Emily. We also have an awesome son-in-law, Nathan. In addition, I'm very trilled to have two adorable grandsons, Nathaniel and Liam. They keep me going and going...but I wouldn't have it any other way. So, when I do get some free time I enjoy spending time with the kids and grand-kids, relaxing with a great book in hand, and surfing the internet for new and creative ideas for the classroom.
I look forward to working with you and your child this school year. With your support and cooperation, we can help your child grow academically. My goal is to have your child well prepared for the end-of-grade test and the transition into fifth grade.
